We know that our own Yuna has gone international but it appears that she has still not been given enough coverage in the international (including alternative) media. So it was a mild surprise to see her appearing in an article (which include video clips) in one of the foreign websites I usually frequented. The New York-based site basically covers cultural events, art, books, music, and world news – the  interesting and non-mainstream ones – but coverage of Malaysian news or of events involving Malaysians is rather rare. Judging from the article, she is indeed becoming an international favourite.

Tune in to the Flavorpill Sessions featuring Yuna

We’ve been on a roll lately with the Flavorpill Sessions, our new in-office concert series in partnership with Sonos. Following amazing performances from K’Naan, We Are Serenades, and the Dandy Warhols, we were beyond excited to have Malaysian superstar Yuna stop by Flavorpill HQ to perform tracks from her self-titled US debut album and answer questions from fans around the world. Click through to watch highlights from the performance, and then visit the Flavorpill Sessions Livestream page to catch the whole thing, plus behind-the-scenes photos and more.

We’ve been huge fans of Yuna’s brand of singer-songwriter fare since she first appeared with her North American Decorate EP last year. The new album has only continued to elevate her international profile, including production from Pharrell Williams among its 13 blissful tracks.

After spending some time with her Flavorpill Session, head over to Yuna’s official website for more reasons to fall in love with her music, including her recent visit to NYC’s PS22, where she performed with the school’s internationally renowned children’s choir.
