The 2012 Global Peace Index (GPI) was released online on 12 June 2012 by the Vision of Humanity website. The 2012 GPI  is the world’s leading measure of global peacefulness.

Produced by the Institute for Economics and Peace, the GPI ranks 158 nations using 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators which gauge on-going domestic and international conflict, safety and security in society and militarization.

As we can see from the above two maps, Malaysia is coloured yellow which means it’s among the most peaceful countries in the world.

Based on the 2012 GPI Map with Rankings and Scores, as reproduced below, Malaysia is ranked 2o. In fact we are ranked higher than Singapore and such other western countries as USA, United Kingdom, France, Netherlands, and Australia.
